Abstract

© 2019 The Society of Thoracic Surgeons Although the use of a right ventricle to pulmonary artery shunt as a source of pulmonary blood flow in stage 1 Norwood palliation is common, there is no uniform agreement on the optimal surgical technique. We present a technique for creating the distal connection aimed at minimizing procedural bleeding, promoting distal patency, and facilitating second-stage palliation.
