The cornerstone of the S.R. Smith Infirmary’s fabled New Brighton “castle” was laid in 1888. Pictured here is the grand entrance hall of the Frost Tower, one of the first structures erected. Ornate woodwork can be seen throughout the design of the columns and staircase.
