Description
In 1903, botanist Mikhail Tsvet discovered the concept of separating chemical compounds while studying plant pigmentation. This opened the door to the 1952 groundbreaking invention of modern gas chromatography by British scientists, Anthony James and Archer Martin, which revolutionized the precision and effectiveness of diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical products. Today, gas chromatography aids in the large-scale detection of impurities in bodily fluids, food products, drugs, and environmental research.
