Description
Nursing from the 1930s to 1950s was greatly impacted by the Great Depression and World War II. During the Great Depression, nursing school enrollment decreased and stipends were reduced. In the 1940s, nurses were drafted to treat wounded soldiers on the battlefield, making volunteer nurses aides an invaluable resource. Illustrated here is a nurse transporting a cart with medications.
