Abstract
Patient care services often experience delays due to a lack of visibility into patient transport status. Currently, the TeleTracking system displays transport status as PENDING (red), DISPATCHED (pink), DELAY/DISPATCHED (orange), IN PROGRESS (yellow), DELAY/IN PROGRESS (green), and COMPLETE. However, staff may be unaware of how to utilize this system effectively. To improve communication and reduce delays, staff from patient units and testing sites will be educated on how to monitor TeleTracking and proactively prepare patients for transport when a PENDING or DISPATCHED status is observed. By monitoring these statuses, staff can anticipate transport arrival, leading to reduced delays, decreased stress, more efficient turnaround times, and improved patient throughput. Progress will be tracked and shared with units to demonstrate the impact of this initiative.
