Abstract
Rounding in nursing aims to enhance communication between nurses and patients, identify patient needs, and reduce falls, ultimately improving patient care. The project's goal is to optimize rounding practices to ensure the best care outcomes. Visual cue prompts are introduced to facilitate dialogue, with measurable outcomes tracked through Press Ganey data. Implementation strategies include displaying flyers in high-traffic areas, placing tent cards with visual cues on bedside tables, and incorporating reminders in daily briefings about the rounding project. Environmental Services (EVS) will be involved in maintaining these cues. This project began in September 2024, and the Clinical Safety and Support Unit (CSSU) will evaluate the effectiveness of the visual cues in promoting understanding of rounding among patients and enhancing nurse-patient communication.
