Description
Throughout the twentieth century, the discovery of modern techniques in anesthesia and surgery heralded a new age of evidence-based medicine that brought about control over pain, faster recovery, and longer healthier life spans. During the 1960s, efficiency in the operating room (OR) evolved with the invention of disposable sterilized equipment, making patient care more affordable for hospitals and improving the rate of infection prevention.
